MEWA India Recognised at Exhibition Excellence Awards 2026
Nuts and Dry Fruits Council (India) [NDFC(I)] is proud to share key milestones from the China International Tree Nuts Conference 2026, Zhejiang, China, where the organisation strengthened its global presence through a landmark partnership and a key industry presentation.
During the opening ceremony, NDFC(I) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products (CFNA), marking a significant step in India–China collaboration within the nuts and dry fruits sector.
The MOU was formally signed by Deepak Agrawal, Secretary, NDFC(I), on behalf of India, and Ms. Sun Yu, Director of Cereals and Oils Department, CFNA, on behalf of China. The occasion was attended by Col. Nitin Sehgal, VSM (Veteran), CEO, NDFC(I), and Mr. Cao Derong, President, CFNA, underscoring the significance of the partnership.
Bringing together two of the world’s most dynamic markets for nuts and dry fruits, the collaboration gains further weight through CFNA’s Tree Nuts Sub-Chamber, China’s largest platform coordinating international trade in the tree nut industry. It commits both sides to regular dialogue, exchange of market intelligence, joint industry events, business matching opportunities, and closer collaboration between member enterprises.
Alongside the signing, Rajeev Pabreja, Treasurer, NDFC(I) and MEWA Chair, presented a detailed analysis of the Indian walnut market at the Walnuts Round Table, joining leading voices from the USA, China, and Chile to discuss crop trends, trade dynamics, and the industry outlook worldwide.
His presentation offered a comprehensive perspective on India’s walnut landscape, covering production trends, shifting consumption patterns, and the regulatory environment shaping the market’s future. The session also reflected the growing appetite for walnuts among Indian consumers, driven by rising nutritional awareness.
Together, these milestones reflect NDFC(I)’s growing global engagement, opening new avenues for trade facilitation, market access, and shared growth for the nuts and dry fruits sector, while strengthening the resolve to build a well-informed, future-ready ecosystem for the industry.
