Almonds

Annual consumption stands at 350,000 MT, marking it as one of India’s largest nut categories. Strong potential exists for building indigenous cultivation capacity.

Cashew Kernel

Annual consumption at 380,000 MT, supported by a domestic raw cashew crop of 700,000 MT. India’s processing capabilities continue to strengthen the value chain.

Figs

Annual consumption at 30,000 MT presents promising room for indigenous cultivation growth.

Dates

Annual consumption at 400,000 MT establishes dates as a nutrition staple with a fast-growing demand curve.

Cranberries

Presently at 2,500 MT in 2023, with an expected growth to 10,000 MT in the next 5 years.

Exotic Nuts

Recorded 358 MT in 2021-22, with significant potential for further growth.

Raisins

Annual consumption at 250,000 MT, with domestic crop already meeting 200,000 MT of demand. A strong homegrown success story for the sector.

Walnuts

Annual consumption at 90,000 MT, with domestic crop contributing 30,000 MT. Considerable scope remains for expanding local production.

Pistachios

Annual consumption at 40,000 MT reflects consistent demand growth. A category ripe for domestic cultivation expansion.

Blueberry

The global blueberry market is expected to grow to approximately 2.7 million metric tons by 2027, driven by increasing demand for healthy and superfood options.

Prunes

The global production of prunes is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 2-3% over the next few years, with estimated production reaching approximately 290,000-300,000 metric tons by 2025.

Hazelnuts
