Nuts and Dry Fruits Council (India) × Australian Macadamias
Event Date: 12th September, 2025
Nuts and Dry Fruits Council (India), in collaboration with Australian Macadamias, successfully hosted the launch of the Application Solutions Guide at ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru. The comprehensive event demonstrated how macadamias can be innovatively applied across bakery, confectionery, premium snacking, and HORECA.
The evening brought together business dialogues from industry experts, followed by a networking dinner, creating a vibrant platform where ideas turned into real opportunities.
The program began with Col. Nitin Sehgal, VSM (Veteran) – CEO, NDFC(I), welcoming participants and reaffirming the Council’s role as a unified voice for India’s nuts and dry fruits industry. He underlined how collaborations such as this provide members direct access to global innovation while strengthening India’s position in international trade.
Mr. Yash Gawdi, Founding Member, NDFC(I), followed with an address on the current status and future potential of macadamias in India. He highlighted their increasing demand in premium snacking and HORECA, while also noting pricing sensitivities and the importance of sustainable supply chains.
From the Australian Macadamias, Ms. Clare Hamilton Bate introduced the evening and presented the Applications Guide, developed to inspire product developers, chefs, and brands with versatile macadamia applications across food categories. The highlight of the session was the detailed address by Ms. Jacqueline Price, who walked participants through a comprehensive overview of Australian macadamias – covering crop outlook, sustainability practices, export markets and consumer trends. Her presentation offered attendees a clear and data-driven perspective on global supply, demand, and growth opportunities.
Active participation from our member community – Rajeev Pabreja, Gautam Dave, Jitesh Kothari, Yusuf Rafique, Asgar Ali, Praveen Kumar, Vishal Jain, Sumeet Nahar, Chethana, Sachin Sharma, Varun, Satyam Sakshi, and Sandeep Begwani – ensured that India’s perspective was strongly represented throughout the discussions. Their insights on consumer preferences, pricing, and innovation pathways opened doors for product development, trade collaborations, and supply-chain linkages.
For NDFC(I), the true value of such platforms lies in unlocking growth, inspiring innovation, connecting businesses, and ensuring that members remain at the forefront of a rapidly evolving food landscape.
