The Macadamia Trade Meet, held on 12th August 2025 at Vivanta Navi Mumbai, brought together prominent industry leaders, global experts and NDFC(I) members to explore India’s growing interest in macadamias and the vast opportunities in global trade.
Organised by Love Macadamia in partnership with the Nuts and Dry Fruits Council (India), the evening commenced with a welcome address by Col. Nitin Sehgal, VSM (Veteran), CEO, NDFC(I). In his remarks, Col. Sehgal outlined the Council’s vision to integrate macadamias into India’s premium dry fruit market and to create new trade avenues for its members.
This was followed by Ms. Jillian Laing, CEO of the World Macadamia Organisation (WMO), who introduced the Love Macadamia global campaign. She shared insights on global market trends, the sharp rise in macadamia demand and the strategic role India can play in this growth. Ms. Mansi Ahuja, India Representative of WMO, then presented the Love Macadamia India campaign, highlighting its momentum and market-building potential within the Indian landscape.
Mr. Yash Gawdi addressed the audience on the potential of macadamias as a high-value addition to India’s dry fruit market. He also emphasised the importance of diversifying product offerings, building strong trade connections and generating business opportunities for stakeholders.
The evening concluded with an interactive Q&A session and networking dinner, where members and global stakeholders engaged in meaningful discussions, explored collaborations and built connections that could shape the future of Indian businesses in the global macadamia space.
